Ramadan Evenings
This was more than Merki’s first event—it was the unveiling of a vision. Inspired by the warmth and poetry of Ramadan nights, the space was transformed into an atmosphere of quiet wonder, where lantern light danced across vibrant Ghanaian prints, the scent of henna lingered in the air, and Mediterranean melodies blended seamlessly with the hum of conversation. Guests were welcomed with dates and an introduction to the spirit of Ramadan—a month rooted in reflection, generosity, gratitude, and community—creating an experience that felt both deeply meaningful and universally inviting. At the centre of it all was our debut collection: thoughtfully crafted pieces designed for iftars, Ramadan gatherings, and elegant evenings out, each garment reimagining traditional Ghanaian textiles through a contemporary lens. Alongside beloved Ramadan delicacies such as sobolo, pinkaso, and other local favourites, the evening became a celebration of culture, connection, and shared experience. What began as an introduction to Merki quickly became an unforgettable moment, with the collection selling out within hours. Looking back, the true success of the evening was not measured by what was sold, but by what was created—a space where fashion, tradition, and community came together, and where the spirit of Ramadan was felt in every detail.
